What a wonderful time We had at Badin Lake! It was a spontaneous family picnic with the kids as well as the grand kids! We took blankets and poratble tables and chairs. However, there where a few tables available. There were port-a-jons only! But we still managed to have tons of fun watching the kids play in the water and playing in the water as well.
The Badin town in Stanley County has a low population to square mile ratio and is remote from a lot of development, so it's typically peaceful.
It's like the old-school public access swimming places that were everywhere up till sometime in the nineties. Sometimes you get people who fish in the swimming areas and build fires outside of the grills, but this is only every once in a while..
It's free and a safe, not too busy place to swim. Younger ones love it; local ice cream truck routinely stops by on hot days.
Enjoy it before some parent sues or the local home owners influence local government to regulate it..
